I did it I had my first trip to Varadero Cuba. Cuba was one of the places in world I had absolutely no desire to travel to. I really don’t know why I guess because of the politics over the years I always thought that if I were going to go to the Caribbean that there were so many other beautiful places to go to. Well I really needed a holiday and money was tight and there happened to be a really great deal to Cuba out there. It was just too good to turn away so off to Varadero I go. I arrived at the airport and was so pleasantly surprised at all the warmth you are greeted with (after you go through customs). We had a fun bus ride to our hotel with a guide who made certain to point everything out to us along our route. We arrived at the hotel and I being a beach person put my bathing suit right on and off the beach I went. Varadero beach was incredible, the white powder sand and the beautiful water. The water was greens and blues like I have never seen before. I walked on the beach without my feet burning on the sand; it was so smooth and beautiful. I took daily walks up and down the beaches. It was serene and magnificent. There is this man with a cart selling t-shirts and it was great and convenient. It was not like other places I had been where they hound you to buy things. They are just there walking up and down as a convenience for people like me who really didn’t want to leave the beach and have to go to stores to buy souvenirs. I spent the most beautiful relaxing week of my life there. I met a lot of great people who live in Cuba and plan on traveling there again this summer. I have yet to see a more beautiful beach. I learnt a huge lesson of life on this vacation; you can never judge anything until you give it a try yourself. I almost missed out of all that had I not tried traveling there.
